GUJARAT TOURISM POLICY
Gujarat’s Tourism Policy 2021-2025, effective from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2025, offers various subsidies and incentives to promote tourism development in the state.
Capital Subsidies:
- Hotels and Resorts: 20% subsidy for investments starting from ₹1 crore.
- Theme/Amusement Parks: 15% subsidy for investments between ₹50 crore and ₹500 crore. Projects exceeding ₹500 crore may receive land on lease in addition to the subsidy.
- Other Tourism Projects: 15% subsidy for convention centers (minimum 2,500 seating capacity), wellness resorts, training institutes, tented accommodations, motels, and more.
Adventure and Niche Tourism:
- Caravan Tourism: 15% subsidy up to ₹10 lakh for purchasing caravans.
- Adventure Tourism Equipment: 15% subsidy up to ₹15 lakh for procuring equipment.
- River Cruise Tourism: 15% subsidy up to ₹25 lakh for purchasing cruise boats.
Sustainable Tourism Initiatives:
- Green Building Certification: 50% reimbursement of certification fees up to ₹10 lakh for eco-friendly tourism projects.
- Global Sustainable Tourism Certification: 50% reimbursement of fees up to ₹5 lakh for obtaining international sustainability certifications.
Marketing and Promotion Support:
- Exhibition Participation: Financial assistance ranging from ₹30,000 to ₹5 lakh for participating in national and international tourism exhibitions.
- MICE Events: Up to ₹5 lakh assistance for organizing international events and ₹2 lakh for domestic events, with specific conditions.
Payroll Assistance:
- Tourist Guides: 25% reimbursement of monthly remuneration (up to ₹4,000 per guide) for six months to promote employment of certified local guides.
Foreign Tourist Incentives:
- E-Vouchers/Gujarat Tourism Card: Benefits up to ₹20,000 per foreign tourist, including discounts on stays at registered hotels and purchases from Garvi Gurjari outlets.
