1. Operative Period
- Launch Year: 2017
- Current Extension: 2021-22 to 2025-26 (with a total allocation of ₹4,600 crore)
2. Eligibility Criteria
- Individual entrepreneurs, farmers, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), self-help groups (SHGs), cooperatives, and private entities can apply.
- The applicant must be involved in food processing and agro-based industries.
- The project must be in line with One District One Product (ODOP) criteria.
- The enterprise must comply with FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) regulations and other relevant industry norms.
3. Subsidies & Financial Assistance
The scheme consists of various sub-components, each with different subsidy structures:
A. Mega Food Parks
- Subsidy: 50% of eligible project cost in general areas; 75% in difficult areas (NE states, Himalayan states, island UTs).
- Maximum Grant: ₹50 crore per project.
B. Integrated Cold Chain & Value Addition Infrastructure
- Subsidy: 35% in general areas; 50% in difficult areas.
- Maximum Grant: ₹10 crore per project.
C. Creation of Backward & Forward Linkages
- Subsidy: 35% of eligible project cost in general areas; 50% in difficult areas.
- Maximum Grant: ₹5 crore per project.
D. Food Processing & Preservation Capacity Expansion
- Subsidy: 35% of eligible project cost in general areas; 50% in difficult areas.
- Maximum Grant: ₹5 crore per project.
E. Agro-Processing Clusters
- Subsidy: 35% of eligible project cost in general areas; 50% in difficult areas.
- Maximum Grant: ₹10 crore per project.
F. Operation Green (Top to Total)
- Subsidy for Perishable Products: 50% subsidy on transportation and storage costs to stabilize price fluctuations for perishable crops.
